Edmund Martin Burke

Edmund was an Alter boy and started working at 12-years old.  He graduated high school and served as a Gunners Mate in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict (aboard the U.S.S Antietam and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt). After his service in the Navy, Edmund worked for the New York City Transit Authority for 27-years. By the grace of God: was a good husband, a good father and friend – who had a simple, childlike faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his brother Martin Frances Burke  Sr. And nephew Martin Frances Burke Jr,  nieces  Janine Halloran, Denise Burke and his son Michael Gerard Burke, and stepson Fredrick Cafiera 

He is predeceased by his beloved wife Irene and parents Edmund Thomas Burke and Mary Philban

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday April 28, 2016 at 11:30am at St. Mary's Anglican Church, 4201 N. Washington St., Wilmington, where friends and family may call after 11:00am. Interment will follow Service in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE. where he will join his beautiful wife Irene.
