Gracemarie Mataleno

Gracemarie Mataleno, 79, passed away on Saturday March 24, 2018 in the Parkview Nursing Home. She was the the daughter of the late Louis and Nancy Mataleno. Born in Wilmington on May 22, 1938, she was the youngest of five sisters: the late Joann Skidmore of Columbus, Ohio and the late Justine Mataleno-Clerc of Wilmington.  She is survived by sisters Jacqueline Kimball of Wilmington, Angela Scanzello of Elkins Park, PA, and eight nieces and nephews. 

She was a graduate of Wilmington High School, and attended the University of Delaware where she studied Chemistry.  For over 30 years, she worked as a lab technician at ICI America and AstraZeneca.  Gracemarie was an avid French Hornist and played in local orchestras and bands including the Old Colonial Italian-American Band, and the Newark Community Orchestra.  She also sang with the Brandywiners, theater company and participated in several of their musical productions.

 Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 14, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont Sts. Wilmington, where friends and family may call after 9:00am.  Interment will follow Mass in Cathedral Cemetery.
