James P Cuomo, 82, of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on September 20th with his loving wife Kathy by his side.

Jimmy was born in Wilmington, DE on June 21, 1934.  He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. He served in the US Navy, a veteran of the Korean War and was a proud member of Teamsters Local 326.

Jimmy worked for Preston Trucking Co for 30 years before retiring in 1997.  In addition to spending time with his family and his feline friends, Ollie, Mollie, and Angel, he enjoyed watching old westerns and old family videos.  When he could, he enjoyed bowling, professional sports and horse racing.   He and his brothers enjoyed playing baseball on Saturdays at Banning Park during the summers.  Jimmy had many cool cars over the years but his favorite was his black 56 Ford Fairlane.  He was the life of the party and always had a smile that was contagious.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Cuomo, mother, Mary Pratt Cuomo, and previous wives Beverly Cuomo and Frances Kreider.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathleen Scott Cuomo, Children:  Debbie Bader (Matthew), Kim Hayes (Roger), Rose Samluk (Steve), Christine Cuomo, Michael Cuomo (Evelyn), Jimmy Cuomo Jr. (Anne Marie), Jackie Cuomo (Tim), Christopher Cuomo (Laurie), John Cuomo.

Brothers:  Frederick Cuomo Jr. of Palm Springs, CA, Paul Cuomo of Wilmington, Joseph Cuomo of Elkton, MD, Henry Cuomo of Smyrna, sisters,  Kathy Weimer of Sarasota, FL, and Karen Psalidas of Tulsa, OK., 22 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and lifelong friends, Charles (Fig) Poore, Ralph and Richard Lloyd and Nelson Cammock.
