Julia Panaccione,  born in Sao Paulo, Brazil on May 10, 1917 went home to be with the Lord and many other loved ones on May 18, 2017.  In 1955 Julia immigrated from Brazil to this country she so loved with her husband of 42 years, Alfredo, and their four daughters.

For the past 45 years, she enjoyed her many friends at St. Anthony’s Senior Center, where she enjoyed her friendly BINGO games.  At one time, she was the youngest member of the center and more recently cherished her honored title as the oldest member.

Julia was predeceased in death by her husband, Alfredo Panaccione and her son-in-law, John R. Marvel.  She is survived by her daughters, Vilma Pagliaro (Eraldo), Ivone Marvel, Odette Schlee (Robert) and as everyone admits, her favorite daughter, Edna Lynam (Jay).

Julia was showered with love, for her 100 years of life, by not only her daughters, but by her 10 loving grandchildren, 11 loving great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, who will never forget the endless flow of Jello always in her fridge.

She will be missed every day by all whom she loved.  She will be an eternal inspiration to us all for her many kindnesses, unconditional acceptance and willingness to help anyone who needed her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday May 24, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont Sts., Wilmington, where family and friends are invited to visit after 9:00am. Interment will follow Mass in Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to St. Anthony’s Senior Center, 1703 West 10th Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
