  Leonard DeAngelis,71, of Wilmington,  DE, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, after a 6 year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was predeceased in death by his wife of 34 years, Antoinette DeAngelis whom passed away April 12,2005.

  Leonard worked for DuPont Experimental Station for over 25 years and served in the United States Airforce for 4 years.  He was a member of St. Anthony's Club and the Prince of Piedmont Lodge for many years. 

  Leonard enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He loved going to the beach, reading, and in his earlier years played touch football for Talmos, played softball, went on trips to Wildwood and his infamous fishing trips with his longtime friends.

  Lenny is survived by his children Gina Moudy (Rich), Roseann DeAngelis, and Julie Grabowski (David); his grandchildren Hank and Finnegan Moudy; his sister Linda DeAngelis; his sister-in-law, Judy DeAngelis and many nieces and nephews.

  In addition to his wife, Lenny was preceded in death by his parents Orlando (Reds) and Vera DeAngelis and his brother Lawrence DeAngelis.

  His children would like to send their heartfelt thanks to his caretakers Shirlene and Michelle who have taken such good care of Lenny over the past year of his life. We will be forever grateful for you!

  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday June 29, 2016 at 11:00am in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont Sts., Wilmington, Family and friends may call Tuesday Evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at St. Anthony of Padua Church.  Interment will be Private.

  In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 240 N. James Street, Newport, DE 19804 and/or The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th floor, New York, NY 10004.
