Michael J. Parisi

Michael J. Parisi, age 66, passed away peacefully on February 13th surrounded by his family and friends.  He will be dearly missed by his wife, Geri (Shields); daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Patrick Williamson; daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Paul Norris and son Michael Parisi Jr.; grandchildren Benjamin, Ryan, Gionna and Broc.  He is also survived by his brother James Parisi. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Edith (Mancini) Parisi.   Michael was married to his high school sweetheart for over 45 years.  His love for his family superseded everything else.  He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.  Michael took his “Poppop” role very seriously and loved nothing more than to spend time with his grandchildren.  He forged lifelong friendships, which is evident by the fact that he still remains close with the friends he made in grade school.   Michael was proud of his Italian heritage as shown by his membership in the Piedmont Lodge and St. Anthony’s Club.  He was a proud owner and operator of Parisi Carpets, the family business that his father started in 1961. 

Michael had a heart of gold and was loved and respected by all who knew him.  His fierce loyalty and sense of humor will be missed.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and aids that assisted with Michael’s care – especially his long-time aid Keziah Karanu.  Family and friends are invited to Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 20th at 1pm at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th & DuPont St. Wilmington, DE. where calling hours will begin at 10am.  Interment will follow Mass in Cathedral Cemetery.  For more information or to place an online condolence please visit corletolatinafuneralhome.com or call 302.273.8508
