Norma M. Cofrancesco

After her long battle with Dementia, at age 84, on Sunday, January 8, 2017, she passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

Born in Wilmington, Norma was the daughter of the late Giacomo and Grace (Maio) DiStefano.  She was a graduate of Wilmington High School in 1950.  Worked at the Wilmington Club as an executive waitress from 1985 to 2010.  She also performed clerical work at the News Journal for 9 years.

Wife of the late Alfonse Cofrancesco, who passed away in 2005; her son Mark Cofrancesco, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bill Byrne of Newark, DE and Dina and Chuck Egoville of West Chester, PA; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Alexandra and Nicole Byrne; Lacey Cofrancesco; Charles, Liliana and Juliana Egoville; her brother Domenic DiStefano and his son and daughter-in-law, Domenic and Debra DiStefano and many cousins.

Friends and family are invited to visitation on Wednesday, January 11th from 6 to 8 PM at Corleto-Latina Funeral Home, 808 N. Union Street, Wilmington.  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12th at 10 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont Streets, Wilmington. Entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
