Pasquale J. Caputo

Pasquale J. Caputo, 92, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Monday June 26, 2017.

Pat was a self-made man who worked for Amtrak as a machinist for over 40 years.  After his retirement from Amtrak, and with limited formal education, Pat worked tirelessly and founded Pats Water Ice which was a favorite in Wilmington for many years.  He also managed to amass a small real estate enterprise.  Pat received the Purple Heart for his service in the United States Army during WWII.  Pat is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Mary Renzi Caputo.  Three children, Pasquale Jr., Gina, and Lisa. 10 grandchildren; Heather, Stefanie, Michael, Katherine, Dominic, Larissa, Daniel, Kevin, and Lily Caputo and Piper Witt.  Five brother, Francis, Danny, Joseph, Anthony and Bruno.  Pat was predeceased by his brother Vincent.  Pat's family would like to thank the Staff  of the Wilmington Division of Christiana Care and Seasons Hospice for their loving care.  In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution in Pat's memory to the Little Sisters of the Poor,185 Salem Church Rd. Newark, DE. 19713 which has a special meaning to Pat.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 30, at 11:30 am at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 7 Sharpley Rd.
