       THOMAS JOSEPH FEDE, Sr.  3/13/26 – 1/13/17

The only son of Italian Immigrants Nicola & Mary Conde Fede departed this world peacefully in his sleep into the welcoming arms of the Lord with family at his side.  He attended George Gray, Bancroft, Brown Vocational & Goldey Beacom College. He served our Country as a decorated WWII Navy Veteran in the South Pacific and Atlantic, rescuing 197 people. Married 54 yrs to his childhood sweetheart Shirley Sutton, who predeceased him along with his sisters, Theresa, Philomena, Ann, Marie, and Carmela. He is survived by his four children Tom Jr, Sandra, Cheryl, and Tina, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, his sister Loretta Campbell and numerous nieces and nephews, including his significant other Mary Jo Krzysiak. He served our community as a WFD Firefighter/Lieutenant (22 yrs retired).  Continued in public service with NCC Government holding positions in License & Inspections, eventually rising to the position of Chief Field Supervisor retiring (23yrs). He ran a small contracting business and was a licensed painter. He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Parish for over 65 yrs and served as a volunteer. He was a man of great faith and love of God, Country and Family. A simple man with high values, and many talents, a Jack of all Trades. The last of the remaining few of the Greatest Generation in the era where “Men were Men”. He had a sensitive side, a deep thinker, writer, composing poems and rhymes of things that mattered most. Had an appreciation for music, especially Sinatra. He had old school standards, upholding moral code and integrity. Enjoyed our Favorite American pastime baseball, especially the players of the Golden Age many of whom he saw in our old and revered ball parks of the past. He was a loyal friend & mentor to many over the years and will be missed by all those he touched in his long fruitful & blessed life.   Visitation will be held Friday 1/27/17 at 10, at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11, followed by internment at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at 1:00   For those that choose: in lieu of flowers a letter could be sent on how TJF personally touched your life: Thomas Fede Sr, 361 Leeds Rd, Elkton Md, 21921
