Virginia “Ginny” Covey, 51, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her beloved family, on Wednesday, May 11, 2016.   Ginny was born July 18, 1964 and raised in Newark.  She was the daughter of the late Shirley (Norton) and Roland Butler.  Ginny later married her High School Sweetheart, Roy “Butch” on July 17, 1982.  Together they enjoyed a total of 38 wonderful years as best friends and constant companions; sharing, celebrating, and supporting each other through life’s many journeys.  Ginny’s most cherished role was that of Mother to her four children, Brandi Wilson, Roy Covey, Amber Covey, and as he was fondly known to her as her “Little Son” Tyler Covey.  She was later promoted to the role of Mama to her four grandchildren, Sydney Downing, Daniel Covey, Taylor Covey, and Madison Covey.
There was nothing Ginny enjoyed more than spending time with her family, frequently vacationing in Wildwood, New Jersey, New York, and Florida.   Her home was always filled with family and friends.   Ginny also enjoyed watching her children’s and later her grandchildren’s sporting events.   In her free-time, Ginny enjoyed crocheting blankets, pillows, and toys for her family and friends.
In addition to being a devoted Wife, Mother, and Mama, Ginny joined her husband Butch in the ownership and management of Midway Muffler Shop since 1992.
Ginny was a loving person who could always be counted on to love and support her family and friends.  Ginny’s generosity of heart knew no boundaries and she will be deeply missed by all those she has touched.  She is additionally survived by her brother, Roger Butler, and sisters, Cheryl Murray and Linda Hunt; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service is scheduled for Monday, May 16, 2016 at 1pm at the Corleto Latina Family Center, 807 N. Union Street, Wilmington, DE where friends may call after 11am.  Interment will follow services in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
