Arthur Bucksner Obituary

Arthur Benjamin Bucksner “Art”, 72, of Wilmington, DE. joined a host of angels in heaven Monday, August 13, 2018.  Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Morris and Helen Bucksner, Art and his loving wife of 49 years, Jean (Jeanie), raised their children Renee, Michael (Marnie Martinez), and Joseph (Stephanie) in Wilmington.  Along with his immediate family, missing him here on earth are his brothers Randall and Steven Bucksner; his adoring grandchildren Annina, Isabella, Valentina, Kaitlyn, Brendan, Nicholas, and Kylee (Michael and Marnie); Grayson and Cadyn (Joseph and Stephanie); and many nieces and nephews.

Art’s infectious personality opened the door to many friends and life experiences including time as a former seaman with the US Navy.  His love for food and Philadelphia sports led to many wonderful gatherings, with Jean’s fine, Italian cooking taking the cake.  He spent much of his time working his produce business and in the later years meeting various people through driving for Citywide Limousine.  What gave him purpose and complete enjoyment are his grandchildren.  He made a point to attend their functions and keep the pool spotless so they could enjoy time together creating lasting memories.  The Bucksner family would like to extend a thank you to the St. Anthony’s Italian Club of Wilmington for being an extended family to Art.  In the words of Frank Sinatra,     “I've lived a life that's full, I've travelled each and every highway, but more, much more than this I did it my way!”     Calling hours for Art are Friday evening, August 17th at the Corleto Latina Family Center, from 5 to 8pm, 807 N. Union St. Wilmington, DE 19805.  Graveside Services are Saturday morning at 10am in All Saints Cemetery, Kirkwood Highway.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517 or the Stephen R. Misetic Memorial Fund, WSFS Trolley Square Branch, 9A Trolley Square, Wilmington, DE 19806.  For directions or to send an online condolence please visit www.corletolatinafuneralhome.com.
