Frank A Tamone, 95, of Wilmington, DE died peacefully on, June 29, 2019. Born to Angelica and Samuel on Union Street in Little Italy. Frank proudly served in WWII in Burma India as a medical assistant. After the war Frank became a skilled carpenter where he built many schools in the area. Later he worked as a millwright with General Motors where he retired in 1985. Frank enjoyed boating, camping, crabbing, building birdhouses and doing stained glass. Singing became his passion and many bands invited him onstage to perform his signature song "Unchained melody".
Frank is predeceased by his parents, his wife, Elizabeth, daughter Mary and his siblings, Thomas, Victor, Joseph, Carmelina Baccino, Frances Pasquale, and Florence Turtoro. He is survived by his sons, Joseph (Joyce) of Northeast MD., Richard of Lockport NY., and Michael of Newark DE. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren Joseph Jr of Northeast MD., and Sarah of Durham NC. We also want to thank his special friend Virginia Reverdito for her kindness and caring for our father for many years and Christiana ICU and Season's hospice for his recent care. Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, July 5, 2019 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 2503 Centerville Rd. Wilm., DE. at 11am where family and friends may call after 9:30am.
