Ida V. Novack of Little Italy passed away on June 13, 2018, at the age of 91. She was born on January 10, 1927, to Frank and Angeline Fraticelli.
Besides her parents, Ida was predeceased by her husband Martin, brothers: Nello Fraticelli, Almando Fraticelli, and Alfred Polico, sisters: Ejea Borrelli, Edith Smolka, and Thomasina DelleDonne. Ida was the last member of her family to pass. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ida lived most of her life in Little Italy until four years ago when she moved to Ingleside Assisted Living. There she made many friends. She enjoyed making them laugh by telling jokes and lots of good natured teasing. She left school in 8th grade to help her family during the depression. She worked in a sewing factory, a mushroom factory, and a five and dime store on Market Street. In November, 1947, Ida married Martin Novack. They enjoyed 25 years of marriage before he died.
Ida enjoyed many trips to Atlantic City with her husband, dancing, good Italian food, and a shot of Anisette in her coffee at the end of a meal. She was always ready to party and often you would hear her say, "Let's shake, rattle, and roll." She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing and a mass Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Monday, June 18th. Viewing is from 10 to 11 and mass is at 11 am. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
