James Hunt Obituary

 

James A. Hunt, 83, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at his home, on May 12, 2018.

James was born on August 2nd, 1934 in Fairmont, NC the son of the late, Owen and Quessie Hunt. 

During his time in high school, James excelled in sports, especially basketball and baseball.  When he was 21 years old he moved to DE, where he would meet his future wife Dorothy Thorpe.  For many years James worked as a welder for the DiSabatino Company.

In his free time, James loved going fishing, watching the Phillies and playing his guitar. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Dorothy, his sons, James, Robert and Richard, his infant daughter, Sally Ann, his brothers, Vernon, Elmer and Bobby and by his sisters, Tessie, Vergie and Shirley.

James is survived by his children, Deborah, Sally and Donald, many grandchildren and great-granchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Corleto-Latina Family Center, 807 N. Union Street Wilmington, on Friday May 25, 2018 at 1:00PM, where friends may visit beginning at 11:00AM.  Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle,
