Mary Ann (Renzi) Caputo

Mary A. (Renzi) Caputo, 94, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday July 13, 2017, surrounded by her children, and friend and caregiver Marian Devlin.  Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Born of Serafino and Rosaria Renzi, and raised in Wilmington’s Little Italy with eight brothers and one sister, she helped her parents run a small deli (the store) from their home.  She was married to Pasquale J. Caputo and their love story endured for almost 70 years.  Mary was predeceased by her husband Pat by only 17 days, rarely separated on this earth, they could barely wait to be together in heaven.  She is survived by her three children, Pat, Gina and Lisa. Ten grandchildren; Heather, Stefanie, Michael, Katherine, Dominic, Larissa, Daniel, Kevin, Lillian Caputo, and Piper Witt.  Mary was predeceased by her siblings, Pat & Frankie Iampieri, Grace, Vincent, Louis, Joe, Alfred, Earl, and Elmer Renzi.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 7 Sharpley Rd. on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. where friends and family may call after 10 a.m.  Burial will follow Mass in Cathedral Cemetery.  Mary’s family would like to thank Seasons Hospice for their loving care.  Please consider donations in Mary’s memory to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church rd.
