Rudolf "Bob" Franciscus Neukerk Obituary

RUDOLF (BOB) FRANCISCUS NEUKERK, age 87 of Oak Hill, Wilmington, Delaware died peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends at the home of his daughter in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.   He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Gerda Neukerk. 

Bob was born in Sumatra, Indonesia on June 23, 1932.  He immigrated to the United States in 1960 and became a proud US Citizen in 2000.  Bob earned a Mechanical Engineering degree and started his career with Atlantic Aviation followed by a 25-year career with Container Corporation of America, where he retired in 1996.  Bob was an avid reader and full of knowledge.  He enjoyed carpentry and working on cars.  In his younger years he played tennis, soccer and practiced Judo.  One of his favorite past times was watching boxing on television with his best friend of 50+ years, Gus Wolff.  Above all, Bob cherished his family and all the friendships he made over the years.

I addition to his wife, Bob is also survived by his two daughters Rachel Mosuly of Middletown, DE (Larry), Jeannette Esposito of Doylestown, PA (Michael “Espo”), and his son Rudolf “Rudy” of Wilmington, DE (Laura).  His sister Claudia Ugolini and her husband France “Kiko” of the Netherlands.  His beloved grandchildren, Alexandra, Courtney, John, Vincent, Kyle, Nicholas, Vada and Seth and two great grandchildren, James and Keira.  Bob is also predeceased by his best friend Gus Wolff.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Hospice care nurses and musicians who provided compassionate care and music over the past five months.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 12 noon at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Rd. Wilmington, DE. 19808 where calling hours will begin at 10am.  Interment will follow Mass in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N.
