Virginia "Ginger" C. Bright

Virginia Chudzik Bright (Ginger) passed away suddenly and peacefully on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the age of 71.

A graduate of Wilmington High School class of 1964 and Goldey-Beacom College, Ginger went on to work for the DuPont Company.  In 1968, she married her high school sweetheart Anthony (Bud) Bright.  Ginger later owned and operated Greenbank Child Development Center Daycare and Pre-K on Greenbank Road in Wilmington for 25 years.  She then joined Bud in his business, A.B. Construction Company, and the two worked together – Ginger in the office and Bud in the field.

Ginger was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Chudzik.  She was predeceased by her husband Anthony (Bud) Bright in 2011.  They were married for 43 years at the time of his death.  She was also predeceased by her sister Geraldine Kula in 2015 and her brother-in-law Walter Kula in 2011.

She is survived by her daughter Melissa Baker (William) of Townsend and her son Anthony (Heather) of Harbeson, Delaware as well as two grandchildren, Billy Baker and Ava Bright.  She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Brice, of Newark; her brother Stephen Chudzik (Eunice) of Lewes; her brother-in-law Ronald Bright (Connie) of Townsend as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation services will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at CORLETO-LATINA FAMILY CENTER, 807 N. Union Street, beginning at 9:30 am.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:00 pm at St. Thomas R.C. Church, 301 N. Bancroft Parkway.  Interment will be held at All Saints Cemetery.
