Alfonzo “Chip” Latina, Jr.
Chip Latina, 66, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 24, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents Alfonzo and Catherine, his sister Marie (Aceto), and his brother Dennis.
Chip attended the Salesianum High School and the University of Delaware, whereafter he began his career at the Port of Wilmington eventually rising to COO. He retired from Delaware River Stevedores in 2013 after many years in the maritime industry.
Chip was a fan of all Philadelphia and University of Delaware sports, golfing, horse racing, spoiling his grandsons and the Delaware beaches. So much so that he retired to Rehoboth Beach where he enjoyed many walks on the boardwalk and fun afternoons with his dear friends at Nicola Pizza.
Chip will be dearly missed by his daughters Adrienne (Anthony) Casale, of Wilmington, DE and Emily of Brooklyn, NY., his grandsons Anthony and Michael, and his brother Bobby and his beloved dog Colby.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Chip on Thursday April 29th at 11:ooam at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 2013 Gilpin Ave., in Wilmington. Friends and Family are invited to a Socially Distanced Visitation on Thursday Morning April 29th, from 9:00 – 10:30am at the Corleto-Latina Family Center, 807 N. Union Street, Wilmington, Interment will follow Mass in Cathedral Cemetery, The Cemetery service will be open for everyone to attend.
The family would like to thank Delaware Hospice for their kind service and loving care during this time. In Lieu of flowers the family would like to request donations be made in his honor to The American Cancer Society and or Delaware Hospice.
