Anne R. Petrucci, 95, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2021, with her family by her side. She was a strong woman who lived life on her own terms and passed the same way.
She was born Anna Rose Santillo in Wilmington on May 30, 1926, to Italian immigrant parents Giuseppe and Gaetana Santillo. Growing up she worked in her family’s grocery store, Santillo’s Market. She graduated from Wilmington High School where she was the very first majorette. She went on to work for a local insurance company, and once she married, she devoted the rest of her life to caring for her family and friends.
Anne spent many years volunteering in the libraries of local schools, loved visiting the beach, and tending to her beautiful garden. She was an avid member of the Delaware African Violet Society and an amazing cook. No one ever left her house without having something to eat. However, she cherished time spent with her family more than anything. She was known for her generosity, loyalty, and warm and accepting nature.
Anne is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Harvey J. Petrucci; her four children, Michael Petrucci (Suzanne), Pamela Dubroff (Richard), Patricia Petrucci (Mary), and Robin Nauman (David); and her nine grandchildren, Danielle Phillips (Brian), Tara Petrucci, Carli Haskin (Eddie), Anna Petrucci, Allie Solis (Anthony), Lily Dubroff (fiancé Tanner), Bailey Blades (Zack), Michael Nauman, and Margo Nauman. She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren, Ryder Phillips and Wyatt Blades; her sister Angeline Celano; and her brother Gabriel Santillo.
The family extends sincere appreciation to the staff at Seasons Hospice in the Wilmington Hospital for their compassionate care of Anne during her final days.
Funeral Services will be private. Donations can be made in Anne’s memory to Seasons Hospice at seasonsfoundation.org/donate/.
