Camillo DiNicola Obituary

Camillo "Tommy" DiNicola, 92, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully at his home on November 26, 2025. Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Camillo and Pasquarosa DiNicola.

Tommy served his country with pride in the United States Army from 1953 to 1961. The camaraderie he found during his service remained a lifelong source of joy, and he eagerly looked forward to attending the destination Army reunions every year. Following his military service, Tommy built a career at Congoleum Corporation, where he worked until his retirement in 1993.

However, Tommy's retirement was in name only. He "never officially retired," finding great satisfaction in doing home improvement projects alongside his nephew. A man of many passions, he enjoyed fishing and crabbing, dancing, and betting on the horses. He was a dedicated fan of NASCAR, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Philadelphia Eagles (most of the time!).

Tommy was a gifted storyteller, often sharing memories of growing up in Chester and his time in the Army. But above all else, his greatest joy was his family. He cherished the time spent with his three grandsons, Nathan, Braden, and Ryder, watching them play sports and mature into young men. He also held a special place in his heart for hanging out with his "grand dogs."

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann DiNicola; his daughter, Michele Hobson, and her husband, Brenden; and his three grandsons, Nathan, Braden, and Ryder. He is also survived by his in-laws, Rose, Doris, Paul, and Phyllis; a host of beloved nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was predeceased by all of his siblings: Minnie, Mary, Helen, Jean, and William.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday December 9, at 6pm at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th and Dupont Streets, Wilmington.  Where family and friends are invited to a visitation starting at 4pm.  Tommy will be buried in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery on a later date.
