Carol McGreevy Obituary

Carol Ann McGreevy, the embodiment of wearing one’s heart on their sleeve, passed away on May 13, 2024, at 5:07 AM. Born on April 25, 1960, Carol Ann’s life was a testament to generosity, compassion, and boundless energy.

A beloved resident of her neighborhood, Carol Ann was known for her warm embraces and the constant presence of her loving sidekick, Nina. She had an undying love for Costa Rica and never turned away a soul in need. Whether cooking for others or lending a helping hand, Carol Ann's mantra was simple: “Who can I cook for? Who can I help?”

Carol Ann’s life was filled with passion and adventure. She was an avid tennis player, ATV and Harley rider, beach lover, and horseback rider. Her evenings often culminated in porch parties, where laughter flowed freely among friends, family, and anyone who happened to stop by.

A second mom to all, Carol Ann was selfless, open-hearted, and nurturing. Her generosity knew no bounds, as illustrated by her act of trading a pair of brand-new New Balance sneakers for a bag lady’s makeshift duct-tape shoes. Carol Ann was the epitome of altruism, always willing to give the shirt off her back and live by her favorite mottos: “You must NOT QUIT” and “If you pray why worry? Why worry if you pray?”

Her fearless, extroverted spirit and overflowing compassion left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Carol Ann’s unmatched abundance of energy and enthusiasm, coupled with her lighthearted nature, made her a beacon of positivity. Truly, they broke the mold with Carol Ann.

Carol Ann is survived by her sister DeDe (Diva) Stanley, her ex-husband Mark McGreevy, and her four children: Meredith, Michael, Miles, and Diva. She also leaves behind her cherished grandsons, Cameron and Rome.

A service to celebrate Carol Ann’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to support her house and children can be made via this Link.

Carol Ann’s legacy of selflessness, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her memory will forever be a blessing.
