Christopher Michael Vari, 55, passed peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Born on April 1, 1969 in Chester, PA. Throughout his life, Christopher lived many places, but always considered Wilmington, DE to be his home. Rarely going by his full name, he was known as “Chris” to his family, “Catfish” to his friends, and “Poppi” to his daughter. Chris worked at his family’s company, 706 Investments, as a property manager and owner. He was a lover of classic rock, motorcycle enthusiast, avid beach goer, and Philadelphia sports team fan. Amid life’s struggles, Chris never lost his love for his family and friends or his faith in God. May he rest in peace. He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony and his beloved dog Bruno. Christopher is survived by his only child, Carter Marie Vari, and his loving parents, Anthony and Joan Vari; his life partner and caregiver, Angel Zawacki, along with her daughter, Heavenlee Quinn; his sister, Lisa Sweeny, and her husband, Rich; his nieces and nephews, Grace, Mason, and Samantha Vari, and Connor and Gillian Sweeny. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Karen Caputo, and the mother of his child, Kristen Ely; always the animal lover, he leaves behind, his dog, Karma, five cats, and a bird; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifetime friends, who will remember him with love in their hearts. Family and friends are invited to visit St. Joseph’s on the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church, 10 Old Church Rd, Wilmington, DE 19807 on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024 from 8:30am to 10:00am, a mass following at 10:00am, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Donations in memory of Christopher can be made to St. Joseph’s on the Brandywine.
