On the early morning of Monday December 26th our beloved Crystal "Nikki" Ayala joined her brother and sister in heaven and is survived by her two sons Romeo Antonio Hernandez and Romello Amir Cuffy.
Crystal is also survived by her mother and father Deborah Charriez and Reinaldo Ayala, along with her remaining siblings Natalia Famania, Carlos Charriez and Reina Ayala.
Crystal was born September 20, 1985. She lived a very successful life after graduating from St. Elizabeth High School in 2003. Crystal joined the United States Navy, finishing her military service in 2007 as a QMSN. She continued her successful path by obtaining her B.S. in Criminal Justice and M.S. in Homeland Security Information Assurance in 2019 from Wilmington University. Crystal also served her community through her work with the Wilmington Police Department and throughout her prestigious career within the Federal Government ending her service as a Chief Deputy Clerk for the New Castle County District Courts. Crystal touched the lives of many individuals throughout her years on this earth through her kindness, generosity and loving heart and she will be dearly missed for it.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 4th at 12:00pm in St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, 809 S. Broom St. Wilmington. Family and friends are invited to the visitation at St. Elizabeth’s Church from 10am – 12pm on Wednesday Jan. 4th. Military Honors and Catholic Committal service will follow Mass in All Saints Cemetery at 2pm.
