Dante Costantino Danese, 69, of Hockessin passed away in hospice care on Saturday, May 28 at Christiana Hospital in Wilmington, DE.
Dante graduated from Delcastle High School in 1971 where he studied printing. Dante worked as a printer at the University of Delaware for a number of years and later worked in the deli at Zingo’s Supermarket. He also worked at Bob's Birdhouse restoring classic Thunderbirds. Dante was an extremely talented musician who played bass guitar in a number of bands, mostly with Duane Brzozowski, Tom Watson, Dover Conley, and Dave DiCamillo as well as a number of other dear friends. He played rock and roll, blues, and country western music at different times in his life. In his free time, Dante enjoyed building, restoring, and custom painting guitars. His loved ones will remember his unique sense of humor and his love of music. He made friends wherever he went, especially at local gigs where he played music. He will be fondly remembered by his daughter for piggyback rides along the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk and their mutual love of Grotto Pizza. His mother will remember spending plenty of time with Dante, grocery shopping together, and the love and care he provided to her over the past 20 years. His family and friends will miss him dearly, but not without hope of seeing him again someday.
