On March 20, 2026, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer, Dennis James LeNoir, aged 68, of New Castle, Delaware passed away peacefully, surrounded in love with his wife and children by his side.
Dennis was a proud William Penn High School and University of Delaware alumni. During his time in college, he was an accomplished member and captain of the track team. He went on to build a long and respected career in the accounting department at the Delaware City Refinery where he was known for his reliability and work ethic.
Above all else, Dennis was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He married his wife, Diane, on June 8th 1985 and shared 40 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for their family. Dennis found his greatest joy in his children and grandchildren, who meant everything to him.
He is preceded in death by his father, James “Jimmy” LeNoir, and his mother, Catherine “Kitty” LeNoir. He is survived by his wife, Diane DiGennaro LeNoir; three children: Caitlin Terry (Eric), Kevin LeNoir (Erika), and Kelly Ann LeNoir; four grandchildren: Oliver Terry, Elliott Terry, Shiloh LeNoir, and Chance LeNoir; and five beloved siblings: Mary Ann DiSabatino (Guy), Karen Sammons (Jeff), Andrew LeNoir (Cindy), Brian LeNoir, and Nanette Tafelski.
Dennis will be remembered for his strength, selflessness and the deep love he had for his family. He truly cherished the simple things in life like listening to music, cracking jokes and chit-chatting with those close to him. Time spent with family and friends meant the world to him and was often the highlight of his day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 11:30am at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church 515 Harmony St. New Castle, Delaware 19720. A visitation will begin at 10am at the Church. Burial will follow Mass in the adjoining Cemetery
