Dominick J. Vavala

 Dominick J. Vavala Age 67, of Wilmington, DE, passed away at home on Thursday March 10, 2022, with his wife of 46 years by his side.

A graduate of Salesianum High School, Dominick spent many years of his career as a Pipefitter, working 25 years for Rhodia Inc./Solvay where he retired in 2006.   

He had many hobbies and interests, including hunting, fishing, and boating.  He especially had a passion for the water, spending countless hours boating and fishing along the Delaware shoreline, and scuba diving at various spots along the east coast.  In addition, Dominick was an artist, creating masterpieces reflective of his interests in the beauty of nature. 

Above all else, Dominick loved spending time with his family, especially his six grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Vavala, daughter Michele Vavala Mullowney (Tom), son John Vavala (Brittany), six grandchildren, Aubrey, Tommy, Claire, Emma, Brody, and Miley; brothers Joseph Vavala and Michael Vavala (Colleen); brother-in-law Bill Denning; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Dominick was predeceased by his sister Elaine Vavala Denning. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Lung Association may be made in his honor.

Services will be celebrated on Friday March 18, at 11 am, at the CORLETO-LATINA FUNERAL HOME, 807 N. Union St. Wilmington, DE.
