Emma Cavero Parra Obituary

 Emma Emilia Cavero-Parra was born on September 11, 1932 in Lima, Peru. In 1955 Emma married Ruperto Diaz and for almost forty nine years this was the only man that had her heart. Emma moved to the United States in July of 1984. God called Emma peacefully on Friday, June 11th, 2021 in Newark, DE at the age of 88.

Emma is survived by her son Cesar A. Diaz his wife Maria Luisa. Her daughter Marlene Ruiz de Castilla her husband Alberto. Son Ruben D. Diaz, two sisters and a brother. She was a devoted grandmother to ten grandchildren and four great grand children. She is preceded in death by her husband of forty nine years Ruperto Diaz, parents Salvador Cavero- Aspur and Teodosia Parra-Pantoja, brothers Jesus Parra, Marcial Cavero, Ismael Cavero, Agusto Cavero and her son Mario Diaz.

Emma took great joy in shopping, walking, helping many people including her family and church community. She was also a wiz in the baking, loved to create desserts for her family and friends. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed reading the Bible most of all. She was a faithful member of Freedom Church of God. Emma loved and enjoyed eating ice cream. Emma took pride in taking care of her daughter’s grandchildren Ashley, Albert Jr., and Rachel.

Emma was a brave, courageous, strong, genuine, and loving woman. She was admired for her strong spirit and dedication to the Lord. She was truly a warrior.

During, her last few years she lived with her primary caregiver, her daughter Marlene in which she spent her time dancing, listening to music, worshiping God, speaking and singing her native language quechua with her sisters.

She will be forever missed and held dear in the hearts of her loving and devoted family, relatives and many friends.

We will celebrate Emma’s life on Friday, June 18th, 2021. Funeral services will be held at Corleto-Latina Funeral Home, located at 808 N Union St, Wilmington, DE. The public viewing will begin at 10:00 AM with the celebration service to follow.
