Franklin W. Wise

Franklin W. Wise from Wilmington passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, after a brief illness. He was born on December 12, 1928, in Orvilla, PA, to John Emory and Mae Kenderdine Wise. Frank served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a Research Technician at the DuPont Experimental Station for 36 years. An enthusiastic golfer, he was the longest-standing active member of the DuPont Country Club and continued playing into his 80s. 

Frank has spent many years as Mutuals Manager at Delaware Park, Dover Downs, and Brandywine Raceway. 

Frank concluded his over 30-plus-year career as the General Manager at Brandywine Raceway.

He was preceded in death by his son James David Wise (Carole) and siblings Elnora (Calvin) Klebe, Emory (Eleanor) Wise, Dorothy (Sterling) Fitzer, Grace (Jack) Hupp, John Edwin Wise, Barbara (Marvin) Detwiler, and Samuel James (Marie) Wise. He is survived by his children, John Wise, Wendy Farina, and Adam Wise, as well as granddaughters Nicole (Zach) Hamilton, Samantha (Joey) Bowen, and Jessica Farina. He also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a brother, Timothy (Anita) Wise of Lansdale, PA. 

Services will be private at the family's convenience.
