Gary L. Cole

Gary L Cole, age 67, of Wilmington, DE passed away on October 13, 2022, surrounded by family and friends.  Gary is survived by his wife Tina, children, Shawn Cole (Toni), DeeDee Porter (Eric), and Brian Cole (Brianna), his grandchildren, Payton Tyler Shayla, Brandon, Jaidan, Ross, Jordy, Bryce and Alexandra, his siblings, Peggy, Joyce (Jay), Gil (Brenda), Gini, Kay, Bev (Tim), many nieces and nephews and most importantly his best friend and loyal companion dog, Zoe. 

Gary retired as an IT tech at Wilmington University and Haveg Corporation.  Because of Gary’s love of computers, gizmos and gadgets IT was the perfect career.  Gary was an avid photographer and after retirement he enjoyed many journeys with Tina, Gil, and Brenda.

In April of 2019 Gary was blessed with a lung transplant and because of the Covid Pandemic he was unable to celebrate the extension of his life with family and friends.

On Thursday October 20, 2022, we will celebrate for him the anniversary for his lung transplant and his life at The New Castle County Irish Society, 1301 S. Rodney Street Wilmington, DE  19805 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM. 

Over the past few years in addition to his wife Tina, Gary has had by his side Gil, Brenda, Jackie Lane, and Holly Gray.  The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Gift of Life Donor Program Transplant Foundation, 401 N. 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA  19123.
