It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that Glenn’s family announces his transition on Sunday, June 20th at the age of 49. Private Services with family and close friends were held on June 29th.
Glenn graduated from DelCastle Technical High School in 1990. He then attended Hillsboro Technical Community College in Tampa. In 2012, Glenn became a Certified Massage Technician.
Glenn will forever be remembered for his wit, his “ornery laugh”, a big & generous heart, an ability to fix just about anything, a handyman extraordinaire with meticulous carpentry skills, a cook with mastery of both Irish and Cuban cuisine and breakfast burritos! His latest skill was making delicious Mead.
Glenn’s best role in life was that of being a nurturing and devoted Father to his beloved daughter Adrianna and Uncle to his beloved nephew Rook. He enjoyed spending countless hours coloring Easter Eggs, making Gingerbread houses and getting ready for Halloween –he always dressed up too!
He beamed with pride this year on June 7th watching Adrianna graduate with honors from Padua Girls High School. He was a loving and caring father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and selfless friend to many. If you called him, he was there.
Glenn was predeceased by his father, Glenn. Sr; Brother Kevin; maternal pop-pop Joaquin, and paternal grandmother Elaine.
Glenn is survived by his daughter Adrianna, mother and second dad Yrene and Melvin Waldron, his beloved maternal grandmother Yolanda Govin; sister Heather Rooks and nephew Rook; uncle Larry Rooks (Brenda); Tracie Rooks (cousin), uncle Agustin Govin (Judy) cousins Donna, Austin and Brian Govin. Stepmom Judy Rooks; siblings Bridgett and Evan Rooks, Stepmom Joanne Rooks, great -aunt Delfina Govin( cousin Grisete); his great -aunt Trinidad Cabarcos (cousins Trinita, Alex and Orli and a host of paternal second and third cousins residing in Miami, Fl.
Glenn was born and transitioned with a heart of gold and his passing has left a huge void in our lives. We know that he is now watching over us all from above as he did here.
“For there is no death, only the transition from the physical to the spiritual plane.” Edgar Cayce
Soar high and free Glenn! Forever in our hearts!
