Helena Miller, 81, born on 10/8/1944 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and a long time resident of Newark, New Jersey, passed away on 11/23/25 surrounded by the love of her family. Helena lived a life defined by strength, humor, and unwavering devotion to those she cared for.
A proud and devoted mother of six, Helena poured her heart into raising her family. She worked for many years with Bayada Nursing and Delaware Park, where her strong work ethic and bold spirit made a lasting impression on coworkers and friends alike.
Helena was known for her quick wit, her honesty, and her ability to speak her mind, qualities that endeared her to all who truly knew her. To hear her tell it, she was FOREVER 21! She adored her cats, especially her Oreo and Nik Nik,and she was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan who never missed a chance to cheer for her team. Her feisty personality is what will be missed the most about her!
She is preceded in death by her parents, her grandmother who lovingly raised her, her only daughter Michelle Miller Silva, her sons Steven Miller, and Glenn Miller, and her granddaughter Anna Silva.
Helena is survived by her three sons: Daniel Miller(Kathy), Joseph Miller, and Dale Miller, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren who will carry her memory forward.
Helena's legacy of love, resilience, humor, and honesty will forever be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was very much loved and will be missed!
A Visitation will be held for Helena on Friday, December 12, at the Corleto-Latina Family Center, 807 N. Union Street, Wilmington, DE 19805, from 11am – 1pm. Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
