Laraine E. Hofmann

Laraine E. Hofmann, OFS, of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully on August 17, 2021, at the age of 71, after an almost four-year battle with ovarian cancer.  Laraine was a member of the final high school graduation class of St. Peter the Apostle School in New Castle, DE, and graduated from Temple University and the Franciscan University of Steubenville. 

She was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes and was a devoted member of the Eucharistic Adoration Ministry, as well as a member of the St Clare Fraternity in Lewes. 

Laraine worked for many years as a technical writer, instructional designer and communications analyst.  She was predeceased by her parents Charles F. and Anne M. (MacFeat) Hofmann, and sister Carole Scully.  She is survived by her sisters Barbara J. McCormack (Frank), Lynne A. Keane (Robert), and Joan M. Hofmann, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful, loving friends. 

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes, DE on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 11:00am. Friends and family may begin to visit at 10:30am. Burial will be private at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, DE. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Delaware Hospice, a nonprofit organization at delawarehospice.org/donate.
