Louis Corrozi Obituary

Louis P. Corrozi, age 75, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Christina Care Seasons-AccentCare in the Wilmington Hospital.  Lou was born in Wilmington on June 23, 1947 the son of late John S. Corrozi and Mary (DeAngelis) Corrozi.  He was a graduate of Salesianum High School and attended the University of DE.

Lou started his working career at Wilmington Trust Company and then joined IBM Corporation.  He had long career with IBM starting in Wilmington and transferred over the years to Pittsburgh, PA, White Plains, NY and retiring at the age of 45 from their Stamford, CT location.  After retirement he and his family relocated to Rehoboth Beach and where Lou started his next career as Property Manager with his company, V&P Residential Services.   Lou retired from V&P after 20 years to spend time with his family.

Lou was active in his church, St. Edmonds.  He was an Eucharist Minister, a member of the Liturgy Committee on the Parish Council, and also member of the Bereavement Committee.  Lou always told people that he was a Sexton at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church (on of his clients) and an Eucharist Minister at St. Edmonds.

Lou and Rita loved living near the ocean and enjoyed walks on the beach.  One of Lou’s favorite pastimes was enjoying time on the water with his family and friends in his boat “The Gimlet”.   He loved working in his garden and yard.  Lou was a great cook, making pies and was famous for his Sunday Italian dinners known as “Red Sunday”.   Lou and Rita enjoyed traveling and one of their favorite destination was Aruba.

Following a courtship that began in high school, he married the love of his life Rita (Forrest) Corrozi in 1969.   Lou was very proud of his sons, Timothy F. Corrozi of Wilmington and L. Christopher Corrozi and his wife Robin of Lewes, DE.  He adored his grandchildren Wyatt, Cameron, Jake and Charlotte (Charlie).   Charlie was the first girl born into the Corrozi family in 40 years!  Lou is also survived by his sister Barbara Corrozi, a brother John Corrozi (Ann Marie) both of Wilmington and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Monday, November 28th at 11:30 AM at St. Edmond’s Church in Rehoboth Beach, DE.  A visitation will be held prior from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.  Interment immediately following the Mass at St. Peter’s Pilottown Cemetery, Lewes, DE.
