Lucille Palmina DiFilippo, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2022 after a valiant fight against breast cancer.
Lucille was a lifelong resident of Wilmington, Delaware, but enjoyed traveling and traveled many places with her friends and her family.
After graduating from Padua Academy, Lucille worked at Bell Telephone for many years. She also worked at Michael Christopher Hair Salon and Brooks Travel, but her favorite job was cooking. As a longtime member of the Prince of Piedmont Lodge 475, she prepared delicious food for many club events and private events. Her food was so delicious because of the love she put into her dishes.
Lucille is predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Anne (Perrotti) DiFilippo, brother Francis and sister Anne (Dougherty).
She is survived by her sister Rosaria Ranalli of Apopka Florida, sister-in-law Eileen DiFilippo, and brother-in-law Dan (Mel) Dougherty both of Wilmington. Lucille is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, including her sister Anne's dog Greta - all who thought of her as the fun aunt. Additionally, Lucille leaves many friends who treasure the memories they have of her.
Family and Friends are invited to a visitation for Lucille on Friday September 16th, 2022 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at the Corleto-Latina Family Center, 807 N. Union St. Wilmington. With Catholic Prayer Service starting at 11:15am. Committal Services will be held privately and at the Families convenience
