Luis Ricardo Alicea, of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, was called to tend the Lord's garden and the Tree of Life on November 8, 2025. He passed away peacefully with his beloved wife, daughter, pastors, and family in Christ by his side.
Luis was a man of quiet dignity, warm-hearted generosity, and steadfast integrity. For more than 30 years, he was an integral part of Bryn Mawr Landscaping, where his expertise brought to life remarkable gardens and serene koi-pond dreamscapes. He was a true master of his craft, known for his unmatched skills and a passion for hybridization—a joy he carried home each week as he tended his own lush plants and mini Koi pond.
In his youth, he was affectionately known as Ricky. He was a big fan of Kung Fu movies, enjoyed playing basketball, and developed a keen ear for music. Raised in the Pentecostal faith, he became the gifted drummer for the Pentecostal church in Chester, PA, and also played string instruments. A true "Jack of all trades," Luis was a skilled carpenter and an automatician, dedicating his past time to various crafts.
It was in Chester, PA, that he met his beloved wife, Yolanda. A devoted husband and father, Luis led by example—a true provider who was always present, loving, and focused on building a life he could be proud of. He developed his cooking skills and refined his Spanish with Yolanda's help. His innate desire to help others was a cherished trait that he proudly passed on to his daughters.
Luis believed deeply in the honesty and kindness of others and knew the importance of staying available for his loved ones, whether by call or text.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Yolanda; his devoted daughters, Joenith and Exzuannette; son-in-law whom he adopted as his own, Diomedes Jr.; grandson, Isaac; and his faithful fur grandson, Bear.
May his memory be a blessing, and his legacy live on through all who knew him.
