Luz Delia Ortiz

Luz Delia Ortiz, 70, of Wilmington, Delaware was called home to the lord on January 29,2024. She joins with her Mother, Felicita Velasquez, her father, Antonio Ortiz, and son, Victor Ortiz.

Luz is survived by her Husband, Monserrate Vazquez of 43 years, her son, Eduardo Ortiz, and her four daughters, Irma Ortiz, Demetres Vazquez, Yolanda Vasquez, and Araceli Vazquez. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren.

Luz was born on May 29, 1953 in Guayama, Puerto Rico.

After getting her Child Development Associates Degree, She worked with children her whole life, She was always kind, caring, and compassionate to those she loved and worked with. 

she was an amazing mother to 5 children, and enjoyed spending weekends going to yard sales with them, gardening, cooking amazing meals, & spending time with her grandchildren.

Luz also donated to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital yearly. She genuinely enjoyed helping others, and would give the shirt off her back. She loved to travel and visit family.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 13,2024 at Corleto-Latina Family Center in Wilmington, DE from 9:30am-12:30pm . Burial will follow in the Silverbrook Cemetery in Wilmington, DE.
