Marlene Grossi Obituary

 

Marlene M. Grossi,  81 of Wilmington, Delaware departed this earth after a short illness early Wednesday morning on August 28th, 2024. She was born on February 1st 1943 to Nicholas and Mary (Minuti) Grossi. Marlene was predeceased by her loving and devoted parents as well as many friends and family members. There are many of each left to cherish her memory.

Marlene attended Ursuline Academy from 1st to 12th grades. She then attended Goldey-Beacom College and University of Delaware. Marlene was employed for 41 years, and retired from AstraZeneca where she worked in marketing. 

She was a long time parishioner of St. John the Beloved Roman Catholic Church. Marlene was an animal lover and donated to many animal foundations. She gave her unconditional love to her cat, Slinky, and her faithful dog, Honey. They were her companions.

In her spare time, she enjoyed going out to meet friends and family members for lunch and dinners. She frequented Mrs. Robino’s, The Crossroads Restaurant and Firebirds Steakhouse. She particularly enjoyed going to the Concordville Inn for the holidays and the DuPont Country Club to celebrate her birthday. She also loved to travel. Her taste for travel took her to many places including Italy, Greece and Ocean City Maryland where she spent time with great friends. She also enjoyed going to see a good movie with friends or trying her luck at Delaware Park and other casinos.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 4th at 11am at St. John The Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE. 19808.

Burial will be private.
