Age 90, of Wilmington, DE
Mary passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2021.
Mary was raised in Wilmington, DE, the daughter of Joseph A. and Jennie Meyer Carroll.
She graduated from St. Elizabeth's High School in 1948 and St. Francis School of Nursing in 1951. She left her nursing career to raise her family. Later she worked for Sears Fashion Center, and ICI America. She was a founding member and lifelong parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena.
Mary will be remembered for her kind heart, her compassion for others, and her love of family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Dorothy Carlsen, and Elizabeth Sharkey, and her ex-husband James F. Lynch.
She is survived by her sons James Jr. (Tina), Paul (Susan), Joe (Karen), and Tom (Karen). Her grandchildren, James III (Amy), Tommy (Molly), Timmy, Brian, Grace, and Greg Lynch, Kara Bencrowsky (James), and 2 great-grandchildren,Katie and Shawn Lynch.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mary’s memory can be made to the Justin W. Jennings Foundation justinjennings.org
