Maryrose “Dolly” Olewinski age 82, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Dolly was born October 1, 1939 in Wilmington, DE to the late Joseph J. and Grace (Renzi) Fillipone. She was a 1957 graduate of Wilmington High School.
She enjoyed gardening, the beach, and monthly dinners with her friends. However, nothing made her happier than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved watching them grow and hearing about their day. She never met a kid that didn’t want her to be their mommom too.
The Christmas holidays were very special to her. She took great pride in elegantly decorating her house and making her much loved homemade raviolis with her oldest granddaughter. It was a tradition that they both cherished.
Dolly was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William F. Olewinski in 2013 and her brother Joseph J. Fillipone, Jr. in 2017. She is survived by her daughter Donna Pullella and her husband John, and son William S. Olewinski and his wife Tammy; 5 beloved grandchildren, John Pullella III (Cheryl), Michael Pullella (Nicole), Lindsay Olewinski, Katie Olewinski, and Megan Olewinski; 4 great-grandchildren, Alexandra Pullella, Santino Pullella, Brett Petraitis, and Drew Petraitis; sister Marlene Stewart; nephew Thomas Capodanno and niece Lisa Capodanno-Caputo (Nick), with whom she shared a special bond; niece Francine McCloud (Charlie); and great-nephew Julian Capodanno and great-niece Nicoletta Capodanno.
The family wishes to thank all the visiting nurses from Seasons Hospice, and a very special thank you to Mary for the compassionate care she provided Dolly in the last few months of her life.
