Michael "Mikey" Christopher Grier

  Michael Christopher Grier was born on January 23, 1981 and went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2023.

  From an early age, he loved all things sports, excelled at them, and cherished the friendships that he made along the way, especially the late Jimmy Wilkerson.  As kids, Mikey and his sister Missi thoroughly enjoyed many road trips and vacations with their paternal grandparents.  He also appreciated spending time with his family and friends, specifically fishing with his buddy John Klase.   As an adult, he became very close friends with a coworker, Mike Presley, who was also a big part of his life. Mikey loved rocking out to all kinds of music at max volume.  He was a serious weather aficionado and loved watching the History Channel. One of Mikey’s most favorite things was spending time with his girls playing whatever they wanted to play!

Michael was a kind and gentle person who was always ready to lend a hand.  If you ever need a comforting hug, Mikey was your guy! His strength and sincerity radiated through those hugs into your soul.

 Michael is survived by Corina and their daughters Julianna & Maria, his father Stephen Grier, and his sister, Melissa Pacheco(Eddie).  He will be deeply missed by cousin and best friend, Robert Stewart(Susan) and lifelong friend John Klase(Adrienne), and leaving behind many loving Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. 

Uncle Mikey will be loved forever by his many nieces & nephews: Little Eddie, Ben & Zach, Olivia, Kyile & Alyssa, Chase, Tori & RJ, Nicholas & Kiran, and Charlie & Carter.

He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Paula & Tom Blakeley, sister-in-law and friend, Nicole Belasco(Ryan) and brother-in-law Adam Blakeley(Renee) and also Mommom Anna(Rossitto).

Michael was predeceased by his mother Sandra Grier, his maternal grandparents Elizabeth & Robert Stewart, and paternal grandparents Florence & John Grier, Sr.

Many thanks to the amazing caregivers at Accent Hospice Christiana, who provided compassionate care in Michael’s final days.  His family and friends are forever grateful for comforting all of us during this extremely difficult time.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Mikey’s life on Monday February 6th 2023 from 5:30pm – 8:00pm at the Corleto-Latina Family Center, 807 N. Union Street, Wilmington.  A prayer service will follow the celebration at 8pm.
