Norman Levine, age 79, of Hockessin Delaware, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 25th, 2022. Along with his parents, Ralph and Ethel Levine, Norman was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Aleta Rendina Levine. He leaves behind two loving children Payton Levine (Taibhse Foundling) and Evan Levine, and his wife Kellyn Levine, his brother Mickey Levine, his wife Daryl Levine, and other relatives such as his dedicated sister-in-laws Lynda Maloney and Maria Rendina as well as loving nieces and nephews.
Norman was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. He dedicated his life to his family, friends, and the Law. Having served as the Acting U.S. Attorney for the State of Delaware from 1972 to 1973 and Public Safety Commissioner for the City of Wilmington from 1973 to 1976, Norman went on to establish a solo law practice that for nearly 40 years saw him as one of the preeminent Family Law attorneys in Delaware. Norman had a charitable heart donating his time to multiple causes. Providing his work pro bono, volunteering within the community, dedicating his time to the support of his wife's long battle with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension; Norman's heart knew no bounds. His lifelong friends meant the world to him, and he looked forward to his many college reunions. When he was not tirelessly working for others or his family, Norman loved to watch and talk sports, read as many books as he could get his hands on, and outplay everyone at Jeopardy he ever met. Later in life Norman developed Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and no matter how far it progressed, he always kept his smile and the heart of a child.
A celebration of life will be held at Corleto-Latina Funeral Home located at 808 N. Union St, Wilmington, DE 19805 on Friday December 30th at 3pm. In lieu of flowers the family please asks that you donate to the National Alzheimer's Association located at 225 N. Michigan Ave, Ste. 1700, Chicago, IL 60610-7633.
