Peggy Mobley, a woman of extraordinary strength, grace, and unwavering devotion, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a rich legacy of love and resilience. Born on February 14, 1940, in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia to James Ulysses and Lilly Mae Pugh, Peggy’s life was shaped by the values of hard work, faith, and family.
Peggy was a woman of many talents and deep convictions. She built a career in electronic repair, mastering a craft that required both skill and precision. In her younger years, she also worked as a beautiful model, capturing hearts with her poise and elegance. Beyond her professional life, Peggy was known for her generosity and service to others. She volunteered regularly at St. Patrick’s Church, where her warmth and dedication touched many lives. A testament to her determination and competitive spirit, Peggy proudly placed third in a marathon walk—a remarkable achievement that reflected her inner strength.
Above all, Peggy was a loving mother and a fierce protector of her family. She is survived by her beloved sisters, Constance Williams and Janice Williams; her devoted daughters, Desiree O’Neal and Denise Davis McArthur; and a host of cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of love and strength.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Monroe Pugh and Seldon Ulysses Pugh; her sisters, Maxine Macklin and Phyllis Ernestine Williams; her daughter, Donna Nesbbit; and her sons, Darryl Pugh, Danny Gilmore, and Dexter Gilmore.
Peggy’s life was one of quiet strength, elegance, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
A Visitation will be held for Peggy on Saturday March 22, 2025 from 11am to 1pm at the Corleto-Latina Family Center, 807 N. Union Street Wilmington DE. Any additional services will be held privately and at the convenience of her family.
