Randall (Randy) Ochonicki, 67, passed away on Sunday 8/22/2021 after an extensive illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Pat Ochonicki, son Adam (Michelle) Ochonicki and daughter Marissa (Thanh) Le, grandchildren Sage and Lyra Ochonicki and Luke Le. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael and Robert Ochonicki and many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Theodore and Gertude (Trudy) Ochonicki.
He was a lifelong member of St. John-Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church in Newark, DE and shared many conversations and wonderful memories with the friends that he met throughout the years.
Randy enjoyed a lifetime career in jewelry sales and design, creating memorable rings for couples to share, working for Robbins DE Diamonds and Janvier Jewelers in Newark, DE and Gemcraft Jewelers in Chicago, Illinois. Over the years, he was fascinated with collecting sports cards memorabilia, watching wrestling and in his earlier years, performing ballroom dancing. He also enjoyed reaching out to his friends, far and near through Facebook.
While Randy endured many health challenges throughout his life, he never lost his easy smile, witty humor with his puns, and knack for telling jokes. Being so affable, he was able to make friends wherever he went. He will be missed by so many people.
A celebration of his life will include a viewing at St. John- Holy Angels Parish Church, 82 Possum Park Rd., Newark, DE 19711 on Wednesday, September 1st, 2021 from 10 -11 AM. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Burial will be immediately following at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Parish Cemetery, 10 Old Church Rd, Wilmington, DE.
