Raymond W. Messina

  Raymond W. Messina passed away June 14,2026

Born in Wilmington, De. on April 8,1947. Ray was a graduate of Wilmington High School and also attended the American Academy of Broadcasting in Philadelphia. He was a veteran of the United States Army  during the Vietnam war from 1966-1968 with an honorable discharge.

    Ray spent some time working in local radio and TV and was a professional Boxing Ring Announcer for his brother Charles' boxing promotions. He also spent many years as a car salesman and later was an advertising salesman.

    Ray enjoyed reading, tennis, dancing and enjoyed watching old movies on TMC, Ray was a devoted Phillies fan and  a long time member of the Wilmington Ski Club.

    Ray was predeceased by his father Raymond A. Messina and mother Anntionette Messina and his sister in law Angelina Messina.

     He will be dearly missed by his sister Patricia A. Marcozzi ( Vincent); his brothers, Alfred J., Charles L (Kay) and Richard M. (Judy).

    Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont St. Wilmington, DE. 19805 on Monday June 22, 2026 at 10 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.

    Interment will be private at The Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Bear, De.
