Rogelio Gueco Bondoc, beloved husband, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026 at Cristiana Wilmington Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was 94 years old.
Born on September 16, 1931 in Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines, Rogelio lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and devotion to family. He graduated from Adamson University in Manila with a degree in mining engineering and began his professional career working for a large utilities company in Manila. He later spent several years working in electrical construction in Vietnam before immigrating to the United States in 1968 in pursuit of new opportunities and a better future.
In 1971, Rogelio married Leonina de Castro. Together they shared 42 devoted years of marriage until Leonina’s passing in 2013. In later years Rogelio found love again and married Pelita Gonzales on December 2016, warmly embracing her daughter Danielle as part of his family.
Rogelio worked for more than 30 years with the Chrysler Corporation before retiring in 1996. He was respected for his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic throughout his career.
Above all, Rogelio will be remembered for his extraordinary kindness and generosity. He had a big heart and quietly helped anyone in need. If he knew someone was struggling, he was always ready to give whatever he could often before being asked. His compassion touched countless lives, and he will be deeply missed by all new and loved his.
Rogelio is survived by his loving wife, Pelita Bondoc, her daughter, Danielle, his brother Jose Bondoc, sister Purificacion Bondoc, and 15 nieces and nephews who cherish their uncle deeply. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Severo and Maria Bondoc, his brothers Arturo, Augusto, and Roberto Bondoc and his first wife, Leonina de Castro Bondoc.
His family finds comfort in the many memories of his warmth, generosity, and enduring love. His legacy of kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 29, 2026 at 1:00pm at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and Dupont Streets, Wilmington. Where Family and friends are invited to visitation at 12pm. Mr. Bondoc will return to the Philippines, where he was born, after the services.
