Ronald F. Annone
Wilmington, DE - Ronald F. Annone, age 72, died peacefully in the care of Season’s Hospice at Christiana Hospital on Monday, March 22, 2021.
Ronnie was born on August 8, 1948 in Wilmington, DE, to the late Marie L. (Giorgi) and Pasquale P. Annone. The only child to two Italian immigrants, he graduated from Claymont High School and studied the culinary arts. Ronnie proudly served in the United States Marines and is a Vietnam War veteran. He enjoyed a career as an Amtrak engineer for many years where he was affectionately known as “Rocket” for always getting the train to the station ahead of schedule.
Ronnie enjoyed cooking for family and friends, especially Sunday dinners. He also enjoyed vacations with family, outings with his two grandsons, and attending car shows with his ‘57 Chevy.
Ronnie will be dearly missed by his wife, Jill Ramer of Wilmington, DE; his daughters April Horsey of Newark, DE and Faye Bailey (Scott) of Bear, DE; his grandsons, Leavitt and Revell Horsey; and many cousins.
A mass will be held in honor of Ronnie on Saturday, March 27 at 11 am at Sacred Heart Church, 917 N Madison St, Wilmington, DE 19801. A private burial will be held at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a future date.
