Ronald P. Hill, age 78, died unexpectedly on August 20, 2021 at his home in Wilmington, DE. Ron was born in Seaford, DE to the late Joshua Hill and late Frances Carmean Hill McKee. He was preceded in death by his brother PFC Richard K. Hill, stepfather Robert McKee. He graduated from Seaford High School in 1962 and entered the apprenticeship program at Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local Union 782 in Seaford, DE. He worked to become a Journeyman and Master pipe fitter and was active in his local union. He served as Business Manager before retiring in 2008. Ron was a devout catholic and member of Corpus Christi parish where he had served as Eucharistic Minister. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus in the Archbishop Fitzmaurice Assembly. As a Knight he served as usher for the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C. To help honor his brother, Ron was an active member of Gold Star Families. He loved spending time with his family, and especially enjoyed swimming in the ocean and playing on the beaches of his beloved Sussex County, DE. Ron was an animal lover and adopted dogs (Shirley, Alex, Abby, Prissy, and, Nikki) and cats (Freddy, Billy, and Eddie) throughout his life. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Carole Hill; daughter Victoria and her husband Eric Mays, four grandchildren Patrick, Daniel, Katherine and Ryan Mays; and many cousins.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 12pm to 1pm at the Corleto Latina Family Center, 807 North Union Street, Wilmington, DE 19805, followed by a service at 1pm. Interment will be at Cathedral Cemetery immediately following.
