Salvatore Anthony Latina, Jr.

Salvatore Anthony Latina Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.  He would have been 69 years old on August 27.  Fondly known as Juny to his family, he is predeceased by his parents Salvatore Anthony Latina Sr. and Edith Lestardo Latina. 

Sal, as he was known to his friends, was a cement finisher by trade where he worked for Dino Medori Construction.  He later worked for St. Anthony’s Senior Center, Lestardo's Liquor Store and the Corleto Latina Funeral Home before he retired in 2018. 

Sal was a member of St Anthony’s Holy Name Society and The Prince of Piedmont Lodge 475 where he enjoyed countless hours socializing with his many friends.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed most sports especially the Philadelphia Phillies.  Another favorite pastime of his was watching old black and white western cowboy movies.

Sal is survived by two children, Matthew and Haley, five grandchildren, two brothers Nick (Debbie) and Anthony, five nieces and nephews, Nick Jr. (Lauren), Salvatore (Amanda), Jill Beth, Stacy (Mark), Scott (Becky), and many great nieces and nephews including, Gianna, Bear, and Zoey who often asked for him during his illness.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Sally Latina Ray, his niece Kristen Magdycz Carroll and brother-in-law Ed Magdycz.

Funeral Services for Sal will be held on Thursday, August 25th at 11:30am at the Corleto Latina Family Center, 807 N. Union St. Wilmington, DE. 19805 where family and friends may call after 10am.
