Stewart Allmond Gorry

Stewart Allmond Gorry died suddenly on November ?, 2024 at his condominium in Wilmington. Stew, the son of James A Gorry Jr and Carolyn Allmond Gorry, was born in Berkeley, CA on June 18, 1945. He grew up in New Castle and the Carrcroft area of Wilmington, graduated from Mt Pleasant High School, attended Elon College, and worked many years in the experimental laboratory of the DuPont Co. Stew was born with a photographic memory and read encyclopedias in their entirety. He delighted in expressing his views and opinions to either friends or total strangers and from time to time would work part time as a bartender in area establishments where he happily expounded on virtually any subject.
Stew was predeceased by his parents and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his sister Nancy and her husband Richard Jeffers of Virginia Beach, VA, his brother James III (Jay) and his wife Anne, also of Virginia Beach, VA, niece Kathryn Gorry Braun and nephew Scott Baker Gorry, both of Virginia, several cousins and grand nieces and a grand nephew.
