Thomas A. DiVirgilio, age 50, of Newark, DE passed away on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020 at the Wilmington Hospital.
Tommy was the son of Camillo Thomas DiVirgilio and Mary (Cofrancesco) DiVirgilio.
Tommy attended St. Anthony’s Grade School. He graduated from Salesianum in 1988 and attended GoldeyBeacom College.
He worked as an inventory supply manager at the Port of Wilmington for Dole Fresh Fruit.
Tommy enjoyed life, his family, church, bowling, baseball and coaching... including St. Anthony's Grade School Baseball Team during the 1990's.
For many years, Tommy volunteered at Padua Academy and St. Anthony’s Italian Festival.
He was an avid bowler. Bowling in St. Anthony’s leagues in the 80’s and 90’s and the Pleasant Hills Lanes leagues in the 90’s and 2000s. He coached youth bowling at Pleasant Hills for many years. He also coached youth baseball teams for Newark National Little League and Special Olympics of DE. He always enjoyed working with the youth.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Kristine Billingsley DiVirgilio and son, Barrett DiVirgilio. Parents, Camillo Thomas DiVirgilio and Mary Cofrancesco DiVirgilio, brother, Joseph (Bobbi) nieces, Samantha and Noelle DiVirgilio, uncle, Joseph Cofrancesco, mother-in-law, Joanne Kaminski, father-in-law, Alan Billingsley, brother-in-law, Alan Billingsley, Jr.(Tiffany), nephew, Connor Sullivan and niece, Sophia Billingsley.
Tommy’s funeral services will be held privately with his family. He will be buried in Cathedral Cemetery. A Memorial Mass/Service will be held at a later date. The date and time of the future Services will be published at that time.
